Maybe I nagged my parents to give them to me until finally they relented. It was not even Christmas, and they were not that generous with presents. But certainly that was why I practiced, and practiced, and finally got the hang of it. So one day, I jumped on the stilts, and it all clicked. I was jumping faster than I could walk, I finally had more than two legs. I started jumping down the street.

The guy next door sees me. Yes, he always thought I was a dork. But this time, he falls over. Pratfalls, off his stilts – right into his mothers beloved roses. I jumped on down the street. That was when I started enjoying my jumping stilts.

I was wondering how can a clown be so tall. I even thought that the clown was just that tall. But, I realized that the clown was on stilts that had him that tall. I always wanted to put on stilts. I even wondered where did the clowns get stilts from. So as I have gotten older, I tried jumping on stilts. And I was so excited because I could see myself high in the air. It was so fun being high and on top I felt like a bird that was on top of the world! My family wanted to try it too. And they did. My cousin almost fell down trying to brace herself with the stilts. I like the cartoon on Noggin called The Mumbo Jumbie. The little boy is on stilts and his father is teaching how to dance on the high stilts. I thought that this was very cute. He looked so cute dancing.

I wished that I could had my parents show me how to dance on the stilts. But, I had to learn all on my own. Learning how to walk on stilts takes practice at first but once anyone does it they can get the hang of it. It is a very fun activity to learn and have fun with! I hope that this summer I can get back on the stilts again.

I saw an opportunity to try out some jumping stilts at a local carnival that I was visiting and thought it would be worth a shot; boy was it ever! There is nothing like putting on your first pair of jumping stilts. They look kinda strange, but they will give you the time of your life.

At first it was sort of scary; the fear of falling was present, and I wasn’t sure if this was going to be fun, but after a few moments of getting my balance, I was having the time of my life. At first they may seem hard to use, but after getting the hang of it, you will be jumping and running in no time.

Your friends will be so jealous when they see you on a pair of jumping stilts. These things were so much fun. I was jumping higher and farther than ever. I never wanted it to end. I was being tired and sick of walking downtown and getting scolding from people moving in cars then I purchased the jumping stilts, to see the world from the perspective of the Giant. The amazing part about jumping around on my stilts is that even though I’m not Michael Jordan I can jump twice as far as him. I remember one time me and my friends played some one on one basketball with our jumping stilts, and at one point pretty much leaped over my friend and got a slam dunk. It was one of those moments were you go “I wish I had my camera” (if we did have the camera I would be sitting on you tube gold). I’m pretty fearless when I’, using my jumping slits, whether physical or emotionally.

Me and friends like to freak people out sometimes and put on weird stuff (like clown costumes) and just jump around town. The best part its not like riding a skateboard were cops get mad, you will never see a sign that says “No jumping slits”. I live in a small town so thrills are few and far between, but as soon as me and my friends got a hold of our jumping slits we never have a dull moment. I remember the days when me and my friends got heavy into skateboarding when it became a huge craze way back when. Now we jump slits, and “OH” is it ever fun.
