Jumping Stilts Running Can Be Fun

Power Jumping Stilts , Friday, January 22nd, 2010

The day I broke my nose using jumping stilts As a child, I used to watch men on jumping stilts with great awe and admiration. It used to appear very easy and enjoyable. I still remember, whenever there used to be a procession on streets during religious festivals, there would be traditional dressed men on jumping stilts, performing dangerous feats. I would love watching them so much that I would even dream of performing those arts myself. The performers on the streets wore only knee protections!

My sister had been to America recently and she brought back a pair of jumping stilts. They looked lovely and challenging at the same time. I was told that one had to wear protective gears like helmet and wrist guards (to avoid sprains and fractures), etc., before attempting to use them. Since I had always wanted to try them, I got on to the jumping stilts, tried a few steps and then my God! I lost my control and you should have seen the way I landed on the floor on my nose. I yelled with pain and it required a great effort to stop the bleeding! It was fun, I am not deterred and I will surely want to master the art. They are no doubt enjoyable and let me not throw a wet blanket on those who want to try them. Managing jumping stilts is an art that requires good training skills. Who knows one day it could become very popular and be included in all sporting activities?

Nada Buddy.
